I open my eyes and look around
My alarm is ringing, what an awful sound!
It’s morning time and I’m tired as hell
Should I go to work? Or just say I fell!
I close my eyes and smack the snooze bar
A few more minutes and still I’m par
The damn thing rings so I pull the plug
I’m tired and sick, I just need a hug
I close my eyes, the clock disabled
I can wake myself, though a fool I’m labeled
Five minutes pass, then another ten
Better wake up fast or be late again
I’m out of bed and into the shower
I’ve got lots of time, over an hour
I’m dressed in a flash, I’m looking good
I’m making good time, I knew I could!
I arrive at work a little bit early
I’ll get a big raise, I bet, most surely!
Promotions and accolades are all I’ll get
They’ll make me manager I’ll bet! I’ll bet!
Then I open my eyes – It’s 10 O’clock
I’ve been sleeping and snoring Oh what a shock
Tired and sleepy I roll back into bed
As I pull the covers up over my head
Gosh I hate mornings...
