I wish you the best

You’ve been my friend now,
for quite a while.
Together we laugh
and together we smile.

I look in your eyes,
and see my friend
Through life’s hard times
to the very end

We’re friends is all
though that means a lot
Sometimes it seems
like you’re all I’ve got.

You say “I love you,”
though just as a friend,
Yet the words like a Rocket
my poor heart send

Now you’re off to marry
and I’m left alone
My heart dies inside
with a silent moan

I wish you the best
throughout your life
No more shall I dream
of you as my wife
